Neak Oknha Dr. SOK KONG and family have returned from Vietnam after year 1979 to their home country Cambodia and lived at a residence #9R, St 252, Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia. He started his business at his residence with a capital of ONE CHI of gold, in today money is US$150 in handicraft sector by producing products made of rubber and also imported some products from Vietnam supply to the local market.
Neak Oknha Dr. SOK KONG has founded a company, named Sok Kong Import Export Co., ltd, which is in short as "SOKIMEX". The company's main service and products is distribution of petroleum to the market throughout Cambodia.
Sokimex supplied petroleum to United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) until the end of mission during their time in Cambodia.
Sokimex relocated the Head Office from Neak Oknha Dr. SOK KONG residence to Road 5, Russy Keo, Phnom Penh city due to the company expansion.
Acquisition the government's petrol company called CKC. The deal included cover CKC Company's headquartered at Russey Keo Oil Storage and Sihanouk Ville Oil Storage and kept more than 300 employees from CKC continue working for the Sokimex Company.
As Sokimex rapidly growth expanding of employees and spaces are required therefore the company decided to made 2nd relocation the Head Office from Road 5 to #22, Kramoun Sar St, Phnom Penh where it is the Sokimex Head Office now.
Sokha Hotels & Resorts brand has been established in Kingdom of Cambodia.
Invested in installation of balloon flight in Siem Reap province to servicing visitors. The Balloon can fly up to 180 meters high, allow visitors to enjoy the spectacular view of the whole Angkor Wat Temple site.

In 2023, a major infrastructure project saw completion under Neak Oknha Sok Kong's supervision, with the Sokha Hotel Group finishing the excavation of a 61-kilometer road. This significant development promises improve accessibility and potentially facilitates further growth for Bokor Mountain.
